BIOCHAR

What is BioChar?

BioChar is ground-down or small segments of charcoal used for agricultural purposes, which is created by using a pyrolysis process, heating biomass in a low-oxygen environment. BioChar is a great soil enhancer because it helps make soil more carbon rich, which is extremely plant friendly.

We undertake all this work at our production facility in Billinghurst, West Sussex.

For gardeners, using charcoal can be a highly effective horticultural aid. In fact, our home produced BioChar is an increasingly useful ally for anyone with green fingers.

A Dream Aid for Gardeners

BioChar produces healthier, more plentiful plant growth and is ideal for:

  • flowers
  • herbs
  • vegetables
  • hanging baskets

At Sussex Charcoal, our BioChar is available online and is sold extensively to garden centres and gardening clubs nationwide. It’s great for allotments and even for small vegetable patches. It’s also proving increasingly popular for those with city centre rooftop and balcony garden space. The horticultural usages are spreading far and wide!
